Why is there an Eleanor Wine?
 |
When Deborah is not behind our tasting counter, she likes to spend time reading about history. She came across the fact that Eleanor of Aquitaine (1122-1204)
virtually started the international wine trade by shipping wine from Bordeaux, France which she had inherited, to England where she had just become Queen by marrying Henry II. She was queen to two kings, and also mother to two kings. Being English, Deborah enjoys the fact that for quite some time a large portion of France was under the English crown. Thus Eleanor of Aquitaine became a terrific name for our special blend. |
Monthly Special
Well what a coincidence! This month we are featuring our Eleanor of Aquitaine. As our most awarded and acclaimed wine over the years, it is often sold out. Our 2007 vintage won a "Best of Class" Medal at the California State Fair, so we enjoyed pouring it at the VIP "Grape & Goumet" event last month in Sacramento.
This wine is a 50/50 blend of our very best barrels of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon. As our monthly special, it follows that now is the best time to act, and save $6 per bottle from the regular retail price of $25 plus earn free shipping. We guanantee this will be the best price on this wine until it sells out.
